I was delighted to be asked to be Patron of Home-Start Wessex, and I am fortunate to have experienced the warmth and support which is so readily offered when walking through the door, even as a visitor.
The power of reading with children can’t be understated. It can help foster close bonds between parents and children, cultivate emotional harmony, self-discovery, rest and, above all, joy. I am happy to be able to join the team in carrying this message with them as a part of their work with families. The staff and volunteers’ passion and enthusiasm for supporting families is infectious and it is a huge privilege to be associated with them.
Home-Start Wessex rely on specially trained volunteers to support their essential work in the community.
